Dr. Robert Straßer started his professional career in 1993 at the law firm Gaedertz Vieregge Quack Kreile (later GAEDERTZ) after working for international law firms, the European TV Producers Association and media companies abroad in New York, Los Angeles and Paris. The firm was partially merged into Norton Rose in 2001. Robert Straßer was an equity partner in these firms from 1996 to 2004, before founding the current firm Straßer Ventroni Freytag in 2004.

From 1994 to 2006, he was also jointly responsible for the implementation of the European Union’s Media Plus Program (now CREATIVE EUROPE) as managing director of the service company D&S Media Service GmbH.

Robert Straßer is a specialist attorney for copyright and media law and specializes in advising companies in the media and IT sectors on all types of industry-standard contracts, court disputes and transactions in this industry.

A particular focus of his work is providing all-round advice on complex productions and co-productions in the field of international series, show formats, innovative digital formats (Youtube streams) and their distribution.

He is also familiar with all data protection issues in media companies.

Robert Straßer is a lecturer at the German Lawyers’ Academy and at the Hamburg Media School. He is also co-author for the chapter “Drafting License Agreements” in the Lawyers’ Handbook for Intellectual Property (Beck-Verlag).
