Dr. Stefan Freytag is one of the most experienced and renowned lawyers for copyright, media and e-commerce law in Germany. His clients, most of whom have been with him for many years, include leading German and international companies in the publishing and media industry and successful investors in digital business models. He has special expertise and a profound economic understanding of the publishing industry and in the area of e-commerce and digital media, shaped by many years of experience. In addition to advising consumer and trade publishers on all media law aspects of their print and online activities, he specializes in business models on the Internet, where he advises on the implementation of new business models, e.g. on issues of e-commerce and data protection law, cooperation and licensing models, software and database law, as well as on the media and IP law aspects of exits, takeovers and other transactions. He has many years of experience in out-of-court conflict resolution and in representing his clients in litigation. He has been highlighted and awarded in attorney and law firm rankings for many years and is the author of numerous copyright and media law publications with a particular focus on issues of liability on the Internet and for user-generated content. He speaks German, English and French. Dr. Freytag is a member of the German Society for Law and Informatics (DGRI) and the Copyright Society of the USA (CSUSA).
